Lauca + Vicuñas + Isluga Volcano

Day 1: Arica / Socoroma / Putre

The excursion starts at 09:30 a.m. From your lodging or hotel, we make an express tour of the city, visit Terminal Asoagro, a typical market in the north. We go through the Azapa Valley to observe panels of geoglyphs, highlighting “La Tropilla”. Entrance to the San Miguel de Azapa Archaeological Museum, where the oldest mummies in the world are found, we cross towards the fertile Lluta Valley, to enjoy a beautiful view of both valleys. Visit to the town of Poconchile and its main attraction the Church of San Jerónimo, a work dating from the 17th century. During the tour we can see the Quebrada de Cardones, where the Candelabra Cacti reign, located in a desert area, very close is the Magnetic Zone. We stop to take a panoramic view of the Pukara de Copaquilla canyon, a pre-Inca defensive fortress. Visit the charming Socoroma Valley, on the edge of a deep ravine. We finish in the Town of Putre (3,500 m.a.s.l.) Capital of the province of Parinacota, at approximately 6:00 p.m. accommodation in your lodging.

Day 2: Putre / Lauca National Park / Chungará Lake / Putre

Departure from Putre at 08:30 a.m. We head towards the Lauca National Park, one of the most fascinating natural reserves. Stop in the Las Cuevas area, where we can take a walk and see the varied birdlife. Unparalleled panoramic view from the Chucuyo Viewpoint, towards the Payachatas Volcanoes and all the majesty of the Andean landscape. We will be able to appreciate the charming Bofedal de Parinacota, made up of llamas and alpacas, in the vicinity we find the Town of Parinacota, of pre-Columbian origin with its 17th century colonial church. On the way we observe the Cotacotani Lagoons, islands in a volcanic lava field, of great scenic beauty. We contemplate one of the most visited tourist destinations; Chungará Lake (4,530 m.a.s.l.) has a spectacular view surrounded by various snow-capped peaks. We finish our excursion with a breathtaking bath in the Jurasi Hot Springs. Return to the Town of Putre, approx. at 5:00 p.m. accommodation in your lodging.

Day 3: Putre / Las Vicuñas National Reserve / Salar de Surire / Isluga Volcano National Park / Colchane

At 08:30 hrs. departure from Putre, we go to the Las Cuevas area, panoramic view. We continue through the Ancochalloani Pampa, observation of the Payachatas Volcanoes, later we go to the towns of Ancuta, and Guallatire, where we will be captivated by the active Guallatire Volcano, inserted in the Las Vicuñas National Reserve. Visit to the amazing Salar de Surire, surrounded by snow-capped peaks, where you get a spectacular panoramic view of the surroundings. We go to the Polloquere Hot Springs, ideal for a relaxing bath. We enter the Isluga Volcano National Park, we continue through the Aravilla Lagoon, continuing through the picturesque towns of Enquelga and Isluga, which stand out for their architecture. We cross through unique and unforgettable landscapes, ending this circuit in the border town of Colchane (3,800 m.a.s.l.) arrival approx. at 6:30 p.m. accommodation in your lodging.

Day 4: Colchane / Gigante de Atacama / Huara / Iquique or Arica

Departure from Colchane at 08:30 a.m. We leave in the direction of the forest of a characteristic species of Giant Cactus, where we will take a walk. Visit to the Town of Cariquima, highlighting its 17th century church. We continue towards the Quebrada de la Felicidad, an amazing set of red rocks. The tour goes through beautiful mountainous landscapes, gorges and canyons. We venture through beautiful panoramic points such as the viewpoints of Chusmiza and Pachica, inserted in a warm and welcoming atmosphere, continuing along the slopes of Cerro Unitas, the Gigante de Atacama geoglyph unfolds, an impressive pre-Inca vestige. Arrival in Huara, where you can breathe tranquility. In the middle of the Pampa del Tamarugal we find the old ghost office of Humberstone, which represents the history of nitrate in the 19th century. We finish in the City of Iquique, arrival approx. at 5:00 p.m. accommodation in your lodging or transfer to the airport.
